모든족속으로 제자를 삼는 WUPM
'Unreached People(미전도종족)'이라는 말은 '숨겨진종족', '잊혀진종족', '무시되어진종족' 또는 '닿지 못한 종족'의 뜻을 가지고 있다. 타문화권의 도움없이 자신의 종족 스스로가 복음화하기 위한 적절한 사람들이나 자원이 될 수 있는 독립적인 그리스도인의 공동체가 없는 집단을 미전도종족이라고 말한다. 선교학적인 측면에서는 각 종족당 기독교인이 5% 이하인 종족을 미전도종족의 범위에 포함시킨다.
전세계에 약 1만6000여개의 종족이 존재하고 있다. 이들중 6천개의 종족이 미전도종족(Unreached Peoples)으로 남아 있다. 세계교회가 이를 위해 협력한다면 남아 있는 미전도종족을 복음화 할수 있는 비전을 품을 수 있는 현실이 우리에게 가까이 이르렀다. 이를 위해 WUPM선교회는 최우선 미전도종족들을 발굴하여 지역교회에 소개함으로 “모든 족속으로 제자 삼으라”는 주님의 명령을 완수하고자 한다. 이에 본 선교회에서는 각 미전도종족의 국가에 현지의 선교사를 파송하였으며, 또한 중요한 국가에는 선교센터를 두어 미전도 종족의 복음화 확장에 최선을 다하고 있다.
The Most Unreached People Missions
The meaning of “Unreached people can be denoted as hidden people, forgotten people or ignored people, or even further untouched people. We may also define the meaning of Unreached people as those who don’t have solid Christian community so that there are no proper human resource, spiritual resource and financial resource to evangelize own people. From the missiological perspective, unreached people may be less than 5% of entire Christian population among the people group. There are 16,701 ethnic people groups and among them 6,933 are still remaining as unreached people group based on Joshua Project. If all the churches around the world work together for world missions, we can reach them with gospel in our days. For this purpose WUPM stands forward to discover utter most unreached peoples and introduce them into the local churches so that we all can take part in Great Commission, which we can go and make disciples of all nations according to what Jesus says. Therefore, WUPM has sent out missionaries and national workers to get the job done. While we are working so hard for the missions, we establish mission station in selected nations.
